We left NYC on Sunday, June 29th. All I can say is that Jerry did an awesome job driving a 34ft Class A motor coach and a 12ft cargo trailor thru the streets as we tried to get on I-95 via the New Jersey Turnpike! The GPS was not our friend and neither were the toll plazas! We did make it and we were on our way! Next obstacle was crossing the George Washington Bridge! We had to do the upper deck and after we paid the toll booth person $51.00 we headed for our next stop, Aces High RV Resort in East Lyme, CT. Needless to say we were ready to relax and enjoy some quiet time by the pool. The temperature was in the upper 70's and the first night we slept with the windows open! On Monday we putzed around and finally got the Harley out and took a ride to New London along the coast. Tuesday we headed out for another ride and are a great lunch and I had my first hot lobster roll sandwich. Yum, Yum! Today, Wednesday we took a ride to Branford and took a tour of the Thimble Islands by boat. The views were breathtaking and the islands were created thousands of years ago, they are glaciers and now pink granite rocks that can only be found here and South Africa. Believe me, only the very rich can even think about having a house out here. I will post more pics. We had a great lunch at USS Chowder Pot. After we headed back to the campground to jump in the pool! 91 degrees on a Harley calls for cooling off! Tomorrow we head for Fairfield, Maine to see our good friends Mike & Mary for the 4th of July. Hoping for safe travels and an uneventful trip via I-95 through Boston. More to come!
I am going to create a blog to capture our exciting adventures as Jerry and I set out to travel around this beautiful country. Our adventure begins on June 16th, 2014.
